Wednesday walking...a week late!

Last Wednesday I joined a GeoFest 2016 walk from Craig y nos Park, touching the Beacons Way, going towards Penwyllt, past the Cavers club then retracing our steps...
Well, the forecast wasn't too good, a grey day with showers, so I packed the rucksack with all the necessary stuff....waterproofs, hat, gloves, sarnies, fluid you know the usual....but as it happened, the weather was perfect! Not energy sapping meltingly hot..., but overcast at times, windy at times, but we still had our fair share of sunshine too! There was a mixed bag of people in the group, and that makes walks all the more interesting.
We were led by Dilys who was very knowledgeable and even led us to a very rare plant called, 'The Hairy Green Weed' not a very posh name...but very apt!
It was a great day, finished off with a slice of cake made specially by Dilys to celebrate the Beacons Way 10th year! It doesn't seem that long since there was talk of a long distance walk being created...here's to another 10 years!
